Hello tulips!
Aren’t plants amazing? One minute all you can see are leaves and the next they’re in full glorious bloom! How true of the plump orange tulips donated by Harlesden Town Garden this week, previously hidden in a sea of golden daffodils.
My Flower Friend adventures then took me to the Brent Mencap garden via a volunteer’s house to pick up some cuddly willow catkin twigs she cut from her allotment.
And just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better I got a message from lovely Vic, owner of Kensal Rise florist Scarlet and Violet, telling me that her donation of scissors, paper, twine and buckets were ready to pick up. Thank you Vic, we are so happy to welcome S&V as a Flower Friends supporter!
This week we gave flower tins chock full of catkins, tulips, hyacinths, spiraea and the last of the daffs, narcissi and hellebores to two disabled residents in Stonebridge and Cricklewood.
Next week the tulips we planted at Mencap are going to be a lovely surprise, as nobody can remember what colour they are:)).
Spring has well and truly sprung, hoorah!
