First flowers delivered by Flower Friends!

The first tins of beautiful blooms grown in the Brent Mencap garden have been delivered to Flower Friends’ recipients in Harlesden, Willesden and Mapesbury!

Three disabled residents cared for by west London based agency KT’s Care Angels were taken by surprise by a last minute visit to their homes, but were delighted nonetheless!

Siobhan Miller, founder of Flower Friends, delivered the flowers personally, taking them on foot from her home nearby. “It’s been such an amazing two weeks. We didn’t expect to have had enough flowers to pick and give so soon. There were only a handful of stems, so we had to make the most of them. I was really special to meet and chat with our very first Flower Friends!”

Tiny yellow narcissi, with sycamore, forsythia, euonymus and wisps of asparagus fern and other foliage were arranged with beautiful purple hellebores in re-used tins.

Soon the Brent Mencap and Harlesden Town gardens will be full of daffodils and tulips, ready to be donated to other socially isolated residents struggling with physical and mental health disabilities.
